Grammys 2017: Who’s Performing, Who Will Win What Tonight? – All You Should Know

The 59th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony will be held tonight at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The star studded ceremony will recognize the best recordings, compositions, and artists of the eligibility year, which runs from October 1, 2015 to September 30, 2016 with James Corden hosting for the first time.
Who’s Performing?
Katie Perry
Katy Perry: Will perform her comeback song, Chained To The Rhythm for the first time.
Beyonce: Her dad says she’s performing, so we’re expecting to see her on stage with her adorable baby bump.
Adele: Might perform her current single, Water Under The Bridge.
The Weeknd and Daft Punk: It will be Daft Punk’s first performance in three years.
Alicia Keys and Maren Morris
Bruno Mars: To appear with Prince’s side-project The Time.
Little Big Town, Demi Lovato, Andra Day and Tori Kelly: They will be performing a tribute to the Bee Gees.
Lady Gaga and Metallica
Sturgill Simpson
Lukas Graham
John Legend and Cynthia Erivo: They will collaborate to perform a memorial to musicians who have died in the past year.
WHO’s Fighting For The Big Prizes?
Adele and Beyonce, go head to head in the three main categories: Album of the year, record of the year and song of the year.
It is expected that Beyonce’s Lemonade will clinch album of the year; while Adele’s Hello will take the others, which focus more on songcraft.
It will be the first time Beyonce would win the main prize as she lost the category to Beck’s Morning Phase two years ago, prompting Kanye West to go gaga.
Sitting Arrangement
Judging by photographs of the seating plans released on Friday, Beyonce and Jay Z get the best seats in the house, confirming their position as pop royalty. Beyonce’s sister Solange – nominated for best R&B performance -will sit a row behind.
Adele gets a seat by Bruno Mars, while Lady Gaga has an aisle seat. And J-Lo will have to enjoy Barry Gibb’s company.
The Lengthy ‘IN MEMORIAM’ Section
2016 was no doubt brutal as there is quite a list of entertainers that bowed out. David Bowie, George Michael, Prince, Leonard Cohen, Sir George Martin, Sharon Jones, Glenn Frey, Prince Buster, Phife Dawg… They have to manage this section well if they don’t want this year’s show to feel like a funeral.
Who’s Not Coming?
Frank Ocean leads the faces we are not expecting after he refused to submit his record for consideration, citing his dissatisfaction with the way the Grammys treated black artists.
Kanye West is nominated for best rap album, but he vowed to boycott the Grammy 2017 if Frank Ocean wasn’t nominated.
Justin Bieber will allegedly miss the show because he “doesn’t think the Grammys are relevant or representative, especially when it comes to young singers”.
Drake won’t be in LA, because he’s playing a show in Manchester.
