Actress, Dana Elaine Owens, better known as Queen Latifah has been penciled down to get the royal treatment at the upcoming American Black Film Festival Honors.
The Oscar-nominated actress will receive the Entertainment Icon award at this year’s ceremony, which would be held in Los Angeles on Friday and hosted by Actress Regina Hall.
She told Fox that she was honoured to receive the award.
“It means so much to me coming from fellow entertainers and my peers.”
Queen Latifah began her career as a rapper almost thirty years ago. Apart from her Oscar nomination for “Chicago,” she was also nominated twice in Emmy acting categories and won a Golden Globe.
The American Black Film Festival Honors holds on Feb. 22. Other honorees include Terrence Howard.
