The first time i had milky popcorn was 2014 during my NYSC days in Kaduna in a local cinema. When i saw milky popcorn on the snack menu i was surprised because I’ve never heard of such so being the foodie i was i decided to try it out and i had my mind blown away. Left to me i’d call it gourmet popcorn but other foodies beg to differ because just milk alone doesn’t make a dish gourmet. By the way Gourmet means something expensive.
INGREDIENTS
-2 Handful corn kernel (the yellow hard type)
-2 Table spoons vegetable oil or butter
-Sugar and powdered milk
COOKING DIRECTIONS
1. Place a pot/ pan on medium heat.
2. Add vegetable oil /butter and allow to heat up.
3. Add in about 2 handfuls of the corn kernel and make sure they don’t overlap.
4. Cover the pot then reduce heat and allow it pop for a minute.
5. When the popping sound reduces, shake the pot a bit and allow it pop for some seconds until no sound is made.
6. Take off heat and pour into bowl.
7. Add powdered milk and toss.
