5 Things That Qualify As Rape That You Didn’t Know

Rape is a very touchy subject all over the world most especially when it comes to cases of women. We all assume rape is when a guy forces himself on a random girl but do you know a lot of husbands rape their wives?
Below are 5 unusual instances that qualify as rape that can get you into trouble if you’re caught doing them

1. HAVING S3X WITHOUT A VERBAL CONSENT: First and foremost both parties must agree to s3x clearly and explicitly. A recent study showed that 64 percent of female University students give their consent verbally whereas some other studies show that men rely more on nonverbal cues. Only 17 percent of students however believe that explicit verbal consent is required for s3xual intercourse. Regardless of the statistics the bottom line is that without a clear yes or no, there is assumption and not consent and therefore, rape.

2. HAVING FORCED S3X WHEN DRUNK: Many stories about rape reveal that the person forcing themselves on the other thinks its OK to do so simply because of the presence of alcohol. Rape is rape  whether one. two or twelve drinks in (Also you can’t legally consent to s3x if you are under the influence).

3. FORCED S3X WHEN IN A RELATIONSHIP: We often think of rape as happening between two strangers who just meet one night. Agreed this may be the case rape often happens in serious relationships such as marriage. Regardless of the couple’s title or status both parties are able to decline s3x at any time.

4. S3X THAT INVOLVES COERCION: If you have to be convinced over and over again to jump into bed with someone then chances are you probably don’t want to do it. There’s a reason why some countries passed the ‘Yes Means Yes’ law back in 2014, which goes beyond no means no and also requires  an”affirmative consent.” The Bottom line is If you’re giving into s3x simply because your partner won’t stop trying to convince you or is making you feel bad because you’re not then it’s rape.

5. OTHER FORMS OF S3XUAL ACTIVITIES: Some would argue that rape doesn’t only involve s3xual intercourse. Oral s3x for instance can be forced on a partner as well as inappropriate s3xting.
