‘Rap Is Asleep In Nigeria’ – Yung6ix Urges Rappers To Wake Up

Talented rapper, Yung6ix, has called on Rappers in Nigeria to wake up from their slumber, saying that there is no Nigerian rap that he listens to anymore apart from his songs and then South African rap.
The Warri, Delta State lyricist urged his colleagues to up their game in order to regain relevence on the African continent.
He tweeted…
When I wanna listen to African rap I play Yung6ix and SA rappers wtf is going on with the Nigerian Rappers ? Wake up
His comment was, however, met with mixed reactions with many bringing to his attention, some Nigerian rappers that were doing just good while others blamed the lull on rappers who had resorted to doing ‘commercial’ songs
@Yung6ix smh for you bro. Lottos rapper on fire in NG and GH and u here talking like u just woke up!😂😂😂😂
@Yung6ix thats just because all the so called rappers are now singing ....
@Yung6ix that's what happens when every Nigerian act wants to go commercial cos of the market... smh for naija rap 😔😔😔
Yung6ix eventually remembered that the likes of Phyno and Reminisce were Nigerians doing rap creditably and he duly acknowledged them.
