New Updates: Auto Responder, display rules and more

Here's what we added for you in Sumo

Hey Sumos, Sean here. I’m excited to show you some of the the biggest changes we’ve made to Sumo in the past few weeks (and how you can use them right away).

Grab a taco and prepare to be amazed.

Big Update: Auto Responder

A few weeks ago we launched Auto Responder -- a new feature that automatically sends an email to your subscribers (see more on how to use it here).

Tons of you are using it already in some seriously cool ways (like our friends at Anywhr):

So we’ve made Auto Responder even easier to use with two new updates:

  • Image Uploading: Inserting images is now as easy as clicking a button. See how to do it here.
  • Custom Field Values: Automatically fill your email with a subscriber’s name, location or other information they give you. See it in action here.
  • Centering: It seems weird, but centering text and images isn’t usually supported in Markdown. So we modified that code and now you can center anything in your email. See how to do it.

Additional Updates

New Display Rule Layout in List Builder 3

In the past, setting up display rules within List Builder used dropdown options:

We’re making the process even easier with a new, more responsive way to choose display rules:

Instead of asking you to pick a rule right away, we walk you through your options so you get the best display rule every time. We start with the highest level, then narrow down your preferences based on what you click.

Custom Forms in List Builder 3

In List Builder 3, we offer popups that adhere to three types of goals: collecting emails, getting social shares and directing visitors to other pages. We’re now adding a fourth option for our most advanced users -- custom forms:

If you’ve got the coding chops to pull it off, you can create a popup that fits the unique style or design of your site. Most of this can be achieved through our drag and drop system, though, so this is for extreme cases where you want to do something special like embed a form or video.

Stay tuned for our new updates (HINT: List Builder is about to get….Scroll Boxier).

Enjoy the new updates,

Sean “Coach” Bestor
