Cult Clash In Edo State,A Guy Was Killed
On Wednesday, 3 persons were killed in different parts of Benin City, Edo State, in the ongoing cult war that started on Christmas Day. One of the victims identified as Godspower was killed at about 4:00 a.m. in front of his residence along Second East Circular road.

Late Godspower was scheduled to travel out of the country on Saturday. His bereaved mother sat on a walkway and wept profusely. She placed curses on her son's killers before policemen came to take the body away. Witnesses said they heard Godspower begging for his life before he was shot.

400 Level missing student of UNIOSUN, found dead
Adebisi Rofiat Damilola, who was studying Science Education at the Ipetu-Ijesa campus of UNIOSUN, left Ipetu on Thursday to attend a programme of NASFAT society, at Ikoyi, near Ikire and her whereabouts was unknown since then.

A source said "We just received a phone call that Rofiat's body was found somewhere around Iragbiji". The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Fimihan Adeoye confirmed the incident and assured that the perpetrators would be apprehended and brought to book.

Daily Trust gathered that the father of the deceased student died recently and that the family was still mourning when Rofiat was also sent to her early grave by unknown killers.

Meanwhile, the two final year students of the same university, Samuel Eke and Akinduro Robert, who were declared missing since September 5, 2016, have not been found.

Mukhtar Abdulkarim, a Second Republic Senator, along with his brother and driver, was traveling between Kano and Zamfara states on Friday when the truck rammed into his car, killing him instantly.

“It’s unacceptable,” Sultan rejects bill seeking equal inheritance for men, women
The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa'ad Abubakar lll, on Tuesday voiced opposition to a bill seeking to ensure men and women have equal right to inheritance. The Sultan said that the bill was against Islamic religion and, therefore, unacceptable to Muslims.

The bill seeks equality for male and female children in the sharing of inherited family wealth or property, the News Agency of Nigeria reports. The bill also proposes that a widow is entitled to the custody of her children unless it is contrary to the interests and welfare of the children.

The bill also seeks that a widow shall have the right to remarry any man of her choice and should have the right to a fair share in the inheritance of her late husband's property and the right to live in her matrimonial house.

"Our religion is our total way of life; therefore, we will not accept any move to change what Allah permitted us to do," Mr. Abubakar said.

"Islam is a peaceful religion; we have been living peacefully with Christians and followers of other religions in this country. Therefore, we should be allowed to perform our religion effectively." He called on the Senate to not consider the bill because of its religious implications.

The former Nigeria coach and captain, Sunday Oliseh, has been appointed as head coach of the Dutch second tier club Fortuna Sittard, 10 months ago, after resigning as the Super Eagles coach.

Fortuna Sittard confirmed his appointment on their website, saying he had signed an 18-month contract. Oliseh, 42, has an option to extend it for another season. He will take charge of training at Fortuna Sittard for the first time on 2 January.
Delta state police arrest man who kidnapped himself And asked for Ransom
The Delta state police command have arrested 21 year old, Justice Ifeanyi, pictured above, for planning his own kidnap and asking his uncle for N4 million ransom to secure his release.
Ifeanyi who was paraded at the state police command in Asaba yesterday, said he intended to use the money he would have extorted from his Uncle to complete his own father's house in Rivers state.
He said he was apprehended while running away from his other accomplices who had started threatening him after his Uncle refused to pay the ransom.
"I left Rivers for Delta state to plan my kidnap so that I can collect money from my uncle to complete my father's house in the village. The gang began to threaten me when my uncle refused to pay the ransom so I had to run away"he said

Man stabs his 9-year-old daughter to death because wife left him, then cleans and dresses her up in new clothes (photos)
A man, angry that his wife had left him and taken his youngest daughter, took a knife and viciously stabbed their eldest daughter to death in Chiang Rai town, Mae Sai, Thailand on Monday, December 26th.
The nine year old had multiple puncture wounds to her chest. After the gruesome murder, the 37-year-old identified as Noi washed the body carefully, cleaned up the scene and the murder weapon - then redressed his daughter in new clothes. He then went out and told neighbors what he had done - but no one believed him.
So he went home and waited for his wife to come and visit. Later in the day she arrived and found her daughter dead. She immediately called police who hurriedly arrested Noi. He was whisked away in a police truck as a lynching mob threatened to grab him and exact instant justice.
Police said that Noi told them his wife had left him earlier taking their youngest child and he had admitted taking his feelings out on his nine year old daughter. The wife said that she left her husband because of his frequent drinking.
